If you want to be a Marine Corps pilot you've got to set short, middle, and long range goals. Each goal will be a step that will help you reach your ultimate goal...earning the wings of gold as a Marine Corps Aviator.
So when I talk about short range goals what types of things am I talking about?
Short range goals are goals that you can do right know. Things like getting into better physical shape and getting better grades in school. These are things that you can focus on right now and will increase your chances of becoming a Marine Corps Aviator.
Mid range goals are those that require a bit more planning/research such as choosing a college to attend and which program you'll use to earn a commission as a Marine Corps officer.
Long range goals are those goals that are off in the distance but become closer with each short and mid range goal that's accomplished. Your long range goals will be getting to flight school and earning your wings.
Some things to remember.
This is a process and inherent in most processes, especially governmental ones there will be delays. Don't let the delays take your eyes off of the prize. In fact, use them to improve yourself and become an even stronger candidate.
Becoming a Marine Corps pilot is a long process. You need to prepare yourself for a marathon not a sprint. Concentrate on accomplishing your short and mid term goals efficiently and effectively and before you know it you'll be pinning on the wings of gold of a Marine Corps Aviator.
